West Village is located in Ithaca, New York. The property consists of 235 units of affordable housing in a mixture of building types including one midrise, town houses, and garden style apartments. Omni New York LLC acquired the property in March 2008 with financing provided by the New York State Housing Finance Agency through the issuance of tax exempt bonds and Low Income Housing Tax Credits, as well as low interest loan. Additionally, the property received a grant from the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority for implementing energy efficient measures.
Building renovation was performed in 2008. Renovation within the apartments include painting, flooring, new kitchen cabinets, energy star appliances, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, new bathrooms include toilets, bath fitters, vanities, medicine cabinets, light fixtures. System improvements include electrical, plumbing, new boilers, high-tech energy monitoring system, and a DVR security camera system with 122 cameras throughout the building. In addition, the community room was updated. Exterior improvements included building facade repairs, new windows, new siding, new sliding doors, deck repair and replacement, new roofs, ramp and walkway repairs, resurfacing of parking lot areas, and extensive landscaping including two new playgrounds and a gazebo.
