Sycamore Village is located in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The property consists of 168 units in three story garden apartments. Omni America LLC acquired the property December 31, 2008 with financing provided by Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency and Department of Housing and Community Development through the issuance of Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Tax Exempt Bond, and secondary financing.
Over $6.1 million dollars of building renovation was performed and completed in 2009, with a strong focus on the improving the energy efficiency of the complex. Modular condensing boilers were installed along with high tech remote accessed energy monitoring system. Within the apartment units, compact florescent light fixtures replaced old incandescent light bulbs, energy star appliances, low flow toilets and faucets were installed. To tighten up the building envelop, low-E argon gas filled windows and new roofing was installed and facade repair was performed. Additional renovation within the apartments includes painting, new flooring, kitchen cabinets, bathroom upgrades including vanities, medicine cabinets and bath enclosures, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. System improvements include a fire alarm system upgrade and a state of the art DVR security system consist of 71 cameras throughout the complex. Exterior improvements include balcony repair, repaving of parking lot and walkways, and a new playground for the tenants.
