Southern Boulevard Apartments is an 8 building, 370 unit family property located in the Longwood neighborhood of the Bronx.
Omni New York LLC acquired the property in June 2012 with bond financing issued by the New York City Housing Development Corporation (“HDC”) and Low-Income Housing Tax Credits provided by the New York City
Department of Housing Preservation and Development ("HPD").
Over $15.2 million dollars was spent on the building renovation that was completed in late 2013. The building scope of work included renovated roofs, new energy efficient windows, new doors, lobby and elevator modernization, new energy efficient light fixtures, brick pointing, facade repairs and new laundry rooms. Additionally, all
boilers were converted from oil burning to energy efficient gas
In-unit improvements included new doors, new energy
saving light fixtures, Energy Star appliances, kitchen cabinets,
painting, new flooring, and new bathroom upgrades including
low-flow toilets, vanities, medicine cabinets, tubs and faucets. The
security system at the property was also completely overhauled with
the installation of 386 DVR surveillance cameras and a keyless access
control system for building entry. Energy upgrades were
completed as a part of the Enterprise Green Communities program and
funding was provided by the New York State Energy Research and
Development Authority ("NYSERDA")
