Remeeder Houses is located in the East New York section of Brooklyn, New York. The property consists of 260 units of affordable housing in four six-story buildings. Omni New York LLC acquired the property in November 2007 with financing provided by the New York State Housing Finance Agency through the issuance of Low Income Housing Tax Credits and tax exempt bonds. Additionally, a grant was provided by the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority for implementing energy efficient measures in the property.
Building renovation was performed in 2008. Renovation within the apartments include painting, flooring, new kitchen cabinets, energy star appliances, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, new bathrooms including toilets, bath fitters, vanities, medicine cabinets, and compact florescent light fixtures. System improvements include elevators, electrical, plumbing, brand new boilers, high-tech energy monitoring system, a DVR security camera system with 209 cameras throughout the buildings, and a keyless entry system. The lobbies of each building were upgraded and four new laundry rooms were created in the buildings for the tenants' convenience. Exterior improvements included building facade repair, new windows, pointing, new roofs, and repaving of the parking lots. Additionally, a computer lab was added for the use of residents.
